CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol and belongs to the group of cannabinoids. These are compounds that occur naturally in the hemp plant. There are over 100 such cannabinoids, but the best known is certainly THC - the active ingredient responsible for the high from cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD does not have an intoxicating effect. So you can't get "HIGH" from CBD.
To regulate certain bodily processes, our body has an endocannabinoid system, which is part of the nervous system. It consists of various receptors such as CB1, which is mainly found in the central nervous system and organs such as the intestines and kidneys. CB1 receptors have a major impact on cognitive functions. CB2 receptors, on the other hand, are mainly found in the immune system and play a role in the body's immune defense. The cannabinoids (CBD) can now dock onto these receptors and thus activate various processes. If you take cannabidiol and it docks onto the receptors of the endocannabinoid system, it can trigger various positive processes in the body. Here is a small overview of the most important effects of CBD:
  • Calming
  • Pain relief
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anxious
  • Mood-enhancing

Since the CBD products that can be sold must be made from EU-certified industrial hemp and have a THC content of <0.2%, CBD products are not intoxicating and therefore not psychoactive. This is because the THC content is ultimately low - almost non-existent and therefore generally undetectable by drug tests. You would have to increase a doctor's recommended amount by an extreme multiple so that it would ultimately show up on a drug test. It should also be noted that the value in the blood must be less than 1.0 ng/ml in the blood, otherwise it will be illegal.
The first thing to do is to ensure that you are fit to drive regardless of consumption. For example, if you are tired because you haven't slept enough, or are inattentive or unfocused, you should leave the car parked. Since CBD does not have an intoxicating or psychoactive effect, the ability to drive is guaranteed at this point and driving is generally permitted. So yes! However, THC has an intoxicating effect and since CBD products have a residual THC value of <0.2%, it is obvious to think that CBD products also make you “HIGH”. However, the amount of THC is so small that at this point, at the dose recommended by a doctor, you don't have to worry at all. For example, if you want to take preventive action against sore muscles and take CBD oil or smear it on your muscles, you can use the car without feeling guilty.
