The Moon Rocks and Ice Rocks are still among the most popular products on the CBD market. And not without reason! Because the aroma and effect of these two special CBD flowers (can be purchased from us at: Hasch & Pollinate ), whose CBD content hardly any other product can keep up with, convince even the last doubters.
If you don't know our Moon Rocks and Ice Rocks yet, then it's about time. We will explain to you what they are, how the two premium products are manufactured and where they have their origins.
Manufacturing process and components
The Moon Rocks and Ice Rocks are CBD flowers that are further processed with different CBD-rich ingredients. To do this, they each undergo a very special procedure.
Moon Rocks
Let's start with the Moon Rocks . The basis for this is conventional CBD flowers . These come from organic, certified agriculture. This guarantees you that no pesticides or herbicides are used and that the THC content is below the legal limit of 0.2%. (You can read more about this under Quality Products from Bonorum )
The flowers are now dipped in CBD oil in the first step. They are then coated several times with CBD pollen . This is a mixture of pollen, resin and trichrome. The latter make the step particularly interesting. The valuable cannabinoids such as CBD are produced in the trichromes. These are resin glands that cover the surface of the hemp plant like small hairs. They protect the hemp from, among other things, weather influences, UV rays and pests. They also have a major influence on the cannabinoid content in the plant, as well as its smell and taste. But there are also many cannabinoids in the resin, so that CBD pollen is overall very rich in the valuable compounds.
The flowers that have already been dipped in CBD oil are dusted several times with the CBD-containing pollen. The result of this complex process is a CBD product that impresses with its appearance. Because the Moon Rocks, with their brownish, shimmering surface and their sometimes unusual shapes, look like moon rocks that certainly do not come from this world.
The special manufacturing process is also noticeable in another way: the Moon Rocks have a CBD content of up to 60% . This means they outperform most other CBD products many times over. We therefore also refer to the meteorite-like flowers as a “super CBD product”.
Ice Rocks
Only our Ice Rocks are even more impressive and have a higher CBD content. These also use CBD flowers from organic and certified agriculture as a basis. You can also expect a completely natural product without chemical additives.
The first step to making Ice Rocks is the same as Moon Rocks – soaking the flowers in CBD oil . After that , however, the process differs because they are then further treated with CBD isolate .
This is a CBD extract that, in contrast to a full-spectrum product, has a CBD content of approximately 99%. This is achieved through a complex process that begins with CO2 extraction. Here, the hemp plant is treated with CO2, which is in a state between liquid and gaseous. This separates fibers and other large plant parts from the hemp plant. To obtain a CBD isolate, the extract is then further filtered, cleaned and goes through additional extraction steps. The goal is to remove all unwanted ingredients such as terpenes and chlorophyll, so that only absolutely pure CBD remains. At the end of the multi-step process, the CBD is in the form of a fine powder. It is also known as CBD crystals.
Ice Rocks are sprayed with these crystals to create a bloom that lives up to its name. Because the final product actually looks like a small ice rock. The only thing even better than its appearance is its impressive CBD content . This can affect up to 80% of the Ice Rocks and lives up to the name “mega CBD product”.
What should you keep in mind when consuming?
Since the CBD content of Moon Rocks or Ice Rocks is very high, you only need a small amount to achieve the relaxed and beneficial effect you are looking for. You could combine a fraction of the moon rock or ice rock with a CBD flower of your choice. So you can enjoy your favorite strain, but with a CBD dose that is proportionately higher depending on the fraction. You should also not grind the moon or ice rocks in the grinder because of the CBD oil used in the second step. Otherwise you risk the grinder getting stuck. A sharp knife or good scissors can be used optimally for this.
How were Moon Rocks and Ice Rocks invented?
It is not entirely clear where and how the Moon Rocks and their relative Ice Rocks originated. One thing is certain, however – the origins lie in the THC-rich cannabis product of the same name. This was supposedly invented by the American rapper Kurupt, who became famous in the 90s. He is open about his cannabis consumption and sang about the Moon Rocks in one of his songs in 2013, a collaboration with other artists.
The original Moon Rocks are made in a similar way. These are extremely strong flowers with a THC content between 25 and 30%. They are further processed with THC-containing oil and kief/skuff. The final product is considered one of the strongest on the market and is often said to knock even experienced users off their feet. This is where the name comes from, which not only refers to the appearance of the unique flowers. Rather, it is an indication of the effect. Because many describe the high after consumption as “out of this world” or as “high as the moon”.
Due to this effect and the high quality of the individual components of Moon Rocks, they are also classified as caviar cannabis. As the name suggests, this is an indication of a truly premium product.
But how did the THC-containing moon rocks become the CBD-containing alternative without the high effect? Quite simply: When CBD became better known a few years ago and a real trend emerged around the valuable compound, many companies followed suit. They copied the hemp product and created a new version without THC or <0.2%, but with more CBD. This is how the new Moon Rocks and later Ice Rocks were born.
Properties of Moon Rocks and Ice Rocks
In addition to their appearance, what is particularly striking about the two premium products is their strong aroma. It can be described as very intense and smoky. The Moon Rocks often have a fruity smell, while the Ice Rocks also have a fresh and resinous aroma.
Incidentally, the two products are usually sold as a whole. In order to maintain the unusual shape and appearance of the Moon Rocks and Ice Rocks , you should refrain from making them smaller before purchasing them.
